Recently, all us Bammers faced some difficult challenges. After many months of very hard work it came time to release a project "into the wild" so to speak, actually it was released into the World Wide Web.  Just as with the release of any large scale project there were challenges to overcome and issues to resolve.

There is a good part to the challenges and issues, that is, that we expected them to come, and thus prepared to handle them quickly and efficiently as a team. By being proactive, putting the people and tools in place, and accepting that the wave was going to come, we were able to move fast to manage fixes.

We used technology and tools to our advantage in helping us manage problems. One of the biggest challenges we faced, was that we were dealing with almost 100 different people on the same project. Communication was the most vital part of this process.

We were proactive in implementing tools, such as a CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system. This allowed us to track communication with each contact. And, by tracking communication, giving detailed notes, we were able to provide seamless support to our client. Anyone on our team could, efficiently, find the most current issue with whomever they were speaking. Another technology tool we utilize is Skype. There are many channels to utilize when communicating with people all across the country, or even around the globe. There is good old snail mail, e-mail, phone, messenger pigeon, and many more creative ways to communicate. But, nothing is better than a good face to face meeting. That can be a difficult thing when you are, possibly, thousands of miles away. Rather than the routine phone call or e-mail, make your meeting more personal by video conferencing through services like Skype.
